On Wednesday 25 May, professor Rob Kitchin (National University of Ireland Maynooth) delivers the PBL academy lecture 'Smart Cities: Realising the promises whilst minimising the perils'. The PBL is the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. Albert Meijer, professor of Public Innovation at Utrecht University, will reflect on Kitchin's lecture afterwards.
Kitchin's lecture will critically assess the idea of smart cities, and looks into the conditions that need to be realised in order to create an actual smart city.
The PBL academy lecture will be held in the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague on Wednesday 25 May (15.00-17.00).
