Volkskrant reports on tracking WiFi traffic in city centres

In today's edition of De Volkskrant, columnist Margriet Oostveen reports on WiFi tracking in Utrecht's city centre.

Her article focuses on tracking city traffic through WiFi signals, for which companies make use of individuals' unique media access control addresses (MACs). Oostveen points at the general ignorance concerning the topic, which regards both citizens and the (local) government.

The full article (in Dutch) is available on the Volkskrant website.
