Walking with the media: Trouw covers data walk in article on smart cities

Are smart city developments as positive as they are often regarded? Today, Dutch newspaper Trouw asks this question in an extensive article. Liesbet van Zoonen, the Centre for BOLD Cities' academic director, went on a data walk with two of the newspaper's journalists to provide them with insights on the digital and datafied city.

Pointing out concrete data hubs as well as ethical issues, Van Zoonen talks about the (in)visibility of smart city developments and the problematic framing of 'the citizen'. The full article (in Dutch) is available online, and is paired with the article 'Niemand controleert big brother' ('Nobody oversees Big Brother').
