Prof. Dr. Bartel van de Walle & HumanTech Lab
Delft University of Technology
Kenny Meesters is a PhD student at Delft University of Technology. In his research, he examines how information and ICT is used during disaster response. How is information used and shared? How do systems and technological advancements support better information management? And how do we leverage this potential towards affected communities? Kenny uses various approaches to study these topics including serious gaming and extensive fieldwork, including in the aftermath of disasters. Kenny is also a trained EU Civil Protection Member and works closely with the United Nations. David Paulus is a PhD researcher at the HumanTech Lab at TU Delft, studying information, decisions and policies in humanitarian networks. He worked on ICT for Development projects for the United Nations and the German Agency for International Cooperation. Prior to that he worked for the Fraunhofer Institute and obtained a MSc degree in Information Systems. Stefan Wigman is a PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology.
