Dr. Emiel Rijshouwer will join the upcoming Studio Erasmus to give a mini-lecture about citizen participation and necessary changes by civil servants: Citizen participation, co-determination and recently also city listening. The municipality of Rotterdam is increasingly asking its residents to think along about complex social issues and to make an effort for their neighbourhood. But how should the municipality itself change to give citizens more say?
With further contributions by Rick Bosman about how companies can stop depending on fossil fuel industry and by Laura Sonneveld about allergies. Furthermore, prof. dr. Paul van Laar and prof. dr. Peter Scholten will talk about their new book 'The real Rotterdammer comes from elsewhere.'
The event will take place in Dutch. Entry is free, recommendation is required.
